Deveron fm Marnoch Rd cf68018jhp River Deveron view valley fields summer trees Aberdeenshire Scotland Strathbogie is one of Aberdeenshire’s famous salmon fishing rivers, rising on the slopes of The Buck in the Cabrach and flowing into the Moray Firth at Banff. Here it is photographed on a small back road from Marnoch Bridge to the Milltown of Rothiemay which winds its way high above the river overlooking the Mains of Mayen before it drops to river level at Rothiemay. This was the first year I committed myself to digital photography using a Fuji S2Pro. Aboyne Loch Walk xcv8693jhp Aboyne Loch June path sunlight dappled peaceful blossom Deeside Aberdeenshire Scottish trees at the eastern approach is this very recognisable feature on arriving at this town mid way up the River Dee valley between Aberdeen and Braemar in the west. Following part of the old Deeside Railway, now Deeside Way, is this path alongside the Loch on a June sunny day. Aboyne is a popular tourist stopover with shops, restaurants, hotels and two golf courses is busy throughout the summer months with long established Highland Games and a recent and very successful Arts Festival based around a thriving Community Centre and Theatre. Crossing the River takes you onto the South Deeside Road, either east to Potarch turn or on through Ballogie, over Corsedardar to Finzean and Feughside. Westwards takes you via the Bridge of Ess and passed the Glen Tanar entrance to Dinnet and onto Ballater.
