Caption: | Snow Winter Glenshee Road Wind Blown Blizzard Aberdeenshire Freezing Dramatictaken near the Clunie Burn to the south of the Deeside village of Braemar on the road to Perth where the major ski resort of Cairnwell is at the highest point crossing in North East Scotland famous for the old hairpin bend called the Devil's Elbow which sadly no longer extists. This gives a good illustration of one reason why the road to the ski resort is often closed where strong winds can create large snow drifts which make ploughing the road almost a fulltime occupation. |
