| Caption: | Dragonfly golden ringed hawker cordulgaster boltonii wings eyes buddleia hangingDeeside Scottish summer photograph taken with a macro lenses as it appears to hang attached to the buddleia flowers possibly asleep or resting. It made no movement when I photographed it and when I blew gently on it remained completely still; I thought it had died and was stuck to the buddleia however after I returned a few minutes later it had disappeared. I checked the ground to see if it had fallen but it was no where to be seen. I had seen a large dragonfly flying the day before around the area although I was unable to get close enough to identify it. The main source of natural water is a small stream and there are some stagnant pools in the nearby forest where deep tyre tracks from tree harvesters had operated a few years before. |
