Caption: | Knock Castle tower ruined boulder foreground Scottish Jim Henderson photographsummer sunny is a Historic Scotland property to the south of town on Royal Deeside on the Balmoral Estate at Knock Farm accessed from the South Deeside Road. It has a sad history of family feuds between Gordon of Knock, the builder of the present tower, who dropped down dead on hearing the news that his family was killed in one day at the hands of the ‘Black’ Forbes of Strath Girnock. He in turn was later killed by Gordon of Abergeldie who inherited the castle but let it fell into disrepair. |
