Caption: | Modern Egypt Aswan River Nile Feluccas Qubbat al-Hawa Tomb Chapelspassed on trips in feluccas to the Nubian Villages or Cataracts and the western bank with Aga Khan Mausoleum or camel rides into the desert to visit St Simeon monastery. Visits to the Tomb- chapels are usually privately organised but easily made via the southern public ferry from the eastbank although there is steep climb from the shore to the rock cut tombs of Ancient Egyptian Nobles and Governors. These felucca sailing boats are berthered around one of the small reed covered islands in the Nile near the northern entrance to Aswan with an old abandoned ferryboat rotting in the background. |
