Tomb Rekhmire Exterior EG075687JHP Ancient Egyptian Luxor Rekhmire Tomb Entrance Exterior Qurna Door Rock Cut illustrating the interspersed nature of the Tombs of the Nobles with Old Qurna Village an area which is undergoing a major modernisation programme with the houses being removed, occupants relocated and the entrances to the various tombs made more accessible. Obviously a programme without some pain and opposition especially from locals who have lived in the area and over the tombs for generations but part of the necessary management and control of these irreplaceable ancient sites and the artefacts contained therein.
