Karanis nr Southern Temple 6437EG07JHP Karanis Kom Aushim Egyptian Desert City Ruins Mudbrick Sand Skeleton on the north eastern edge of the area known as Fayoum and dates from Ptolemaic times through to 500AD. Two Roman dated temples survive in reasonable state and the southern one is dedicated to the crocodile Gods of Pnepheros and Petesuchos. Many finds have been made especially of life in a residential area with houses scattered throughout the site and there is also a fine Roman bathhouse.
