 Deir al-Madinah Luxor Egypt Ruins streets Ramasseum Hathor temple Ptolemaic is located on the West Bank of the River Nile at Luxor lies to the west of Qurnet Murai hill and is the location of a workman's village with the remains of houses, streets, temples and chapels. The workers are known for their work in the Valley tombs which they reached walking over the Theban plateau. Most photographs show the streets, houses, interior with domestic bowls and grinding querns and others a general overview of the village with its tombs and rock tombs to the North West corner. There are also some exquisitely decorated underground tombs of which a couple are included in the entrance ticket. This photograph shows the pan-bedded mudbrick enclosure wall around the Ptolemaic Tempe of Hathor and the distant Ramasseum with the fertile west bank beyond.
