Dendara Iseum & East Gate eg985412 Dendara Temple rear ancient Egypt Augustus east gate Isis Iseum photo is located north of Luxor and survives as one of the finest examples of the Late Period and the main buildings visited today date from fourth century BC in to the Roman period. It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. This photo is the east wall of the small Augustus Temple of Isis looking to the Roman gate in the eastern enclosure wall and considered the main approach to this delightful Iseum located by the Sacred Lake at the rear of the main temple of Hathor.
