Caption: | Dendara Temple Ptolemiac basilica mammisi Nectanebo Egypt columns carved Qenaphoto located north of Luxor survives as one of the finest examples of the Late Period and the main buildings visited today date from fourth century BC in to the Roman period. It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. In the backdrop is the more famous Roman Mammisi with its exquisite fine quality decorations on the outer wall. |
