The inside is now not accessible but is one of the easiest to enter and entry by Gaston Maspero was financed by Thomas Cook & Co where a highly decorated burial chamber covered in Pyramid Texts was uncovered along with a huge basalt sarcophagus. This is the remains of the demolished tomb of Hotepsekhemwy, first ruler of the 2nd Dynasty and leads to a warren of rock cut chambers but not accessible to the public.
