Karnak Khonsu Propylon EG075011jhp Egyptian Karnak Temple Khonsu Propylon Gate Ptolemaic Pylon entrance Pinedjem located to the SW corner of this huge sprawling site on the East Bank of the River Nile near the modern City of Luxor and Karnak is the largest religious complex on the Nile. This view is taken from the entrance in front of the pylon of the Temple of Khonsu and the temple is worth a visit as it is usually free of crowds, is well preserved and is adjacent to a nicely decorated Temple of Opet, a Goddess hippopotamus deity who assisted women in childbearing. Built mainly by Ramesses 111 and 1V but later additions by various kings including the Propylon Gate built by Ptolemy 111 from which an avenue of sphinxes leads to the Precinct of Mut, unfortunately closed to the public. Buchan Farmland xcv7755jhp Spring Ythsie Prop monument tower Aberdeenshire Haddo estate rolling landscape taken on a country road to Tanglandford just past the Haddo House main public entrance opposite the turnoff to Tarves at the beginning of May illustrating the gentle rolling landscape seen from many parts of northern Aberdeenshire with its modern day addition of wind turbines. The tower is the Prop of Ythsie built by workers on the Haddo Eseate in memory of the 4th Earl who did much to improve the well being of those on the estate.
