Inside the Peristyle court built by Ramses and behind the pylon nearest to the Nile, ie West side is a Triple Shrine built by Thutmosis 11 to the Gods Mut, Amun and Khonsu. The cartouches are those of Ramses, Usermaatre his throne name. Findlater Doocot vbn1273jhp Findlater Barnyards Dovecot doocot Aberdeenshire Scottish autumn turnips coast clouds restored sits above the cliffs above Findlater Castle and is located between Portsoy, Sandend and Cullen. A carparking area is signed from the main coastal road just after leaving the junction for Sandend, west of Portsoy. The dovecot is easily accessible from the carpark at Barnyards Farm going off the path to the cliff top and access to Findlater Castle. The Dovecot is possibly 16th Century, about the time that Findlater Castle ceased to be used and would have been a food source. It is a circular stone built beehive shaped building with three tiers each defined by the rat or string course that gave a horizontal impediment to stop rats crawling up the outside to get access to the 700 nesting boxes inside. Auldearn Doocot Spring UP280346jhp Scotland Nairnshire Moray Auldearn Doocot Dovecot pigeon loft spring yellow daffodils is situated in the village of Auldearn by the A96 near Nairn. The 17th Century Doocot or pigeon loft was bequeathed to the NTS by the owner Boath and is located on a motte, the site of a 12th century Royal Castle called Eren, one of the strongholds for the Scottish Kings of Moray. It was later destroyed but the site was the credited as where the Royal Standard was raised by the Marquis of Montrose in May 1645 when his army defeated the Covenant forces at the Battle of Auldearn.
