The priest has two officials touching his linen robe possibly indicating how important he is. This photo shows this scene which complete as repeated in mirror fashion along the wall. This tableaux is carved on the eastern wall that connects the two pylons. Karnak Carved Wall EG074995jhp Court Pylons Wall Reliefs Karnak Temple doorway eighth pylon Roy-Rome priests on the walls in the Court between the seventh and eighth pylons around the doorway into the staircase on the east wing of the Eighth Pylon. On the door lintel are mirror versions of the same person, Roy-Rome, a long serving High Priest to Amun with arms raised in praise but to where a cartouche, now hacked out, would have been. The figures on the right are two priests in linen robes, one of Roy-Rome, the other his son Beknekhonsu offering praise is an extensive area of text which refers to Seti 11. Karnak Mudbrick Wall EG074903jhp Mudbrick enclosure wall pan bedding Karnak temple Egyptian construction Nectanebo attributed as the builder of this surrounding this huge religious temple complex located on the East Bank fo the River Nile at Luxor. Pan bedding was a technique where the bricks mirrored the ground levels and it is also possible to see how additons where made and other areas strengthened as seen towards the top centre. This part of the enclosure wall is at the northern corner and is behind the Open Air Museum. The cartouches are those of Ramses, Usermaatre his throne name. Picardy Pictish Stone VQ9132JHP Picardy Pictish Symbol Stone Incised Carved Ancient Scottish Pillar Insch Aberdeenshire dates from the 6/7th century AD and stands in a field off minor road to Largie near Insch in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland. A rough whinstone pillar with three finely incised prehistoric Pictish symbols of double disc and Z-rod, coiled serpent and simple mirror. It is apparently in its original position; near a burial and in view of the nearby hill fort of Dunnideer. In the great hall is the Horn of Leys, supposedly a symbol of this grant. The tower house is one of the finest examples of the period and some of the original wall paintings still survive. There are extensive gardens including a walled garden and croquet lawn, with many activities for children, woodland walks, shop and restaurant. Photographs taken in the mid 90's mainly for the AA Publishing & Ordnance Survey Highland and Islands Guide book using transparency film covering the Highlands of Scotland from Inverness, northwards through Easter Ross to Wick and Thurso, along the Northern Coast, down the West Coast, including the Islands of Skye and Mull. Other material included was gathered for other AA Publishing Guides including Shetland, Pitlochry and Tayside. New photographs are now included from 2012 book commission travels in Angus, Perth, Kinross, Trossachs and Tayside.
