Adjacent to a field looking back to Keig there is enough room to pull off the road on the verge, cross the road and there is an obvious footpath up through the many mature trees and up a gradual slope. The walk into the stone circle takes about five minutes following the footpath which meanders through the trees and past some of the Natural Burial area plots. This is a Historic Scotland protected site, it is not signed and there is no access for wheelchairs.

Claims this was a hideout for outlaws, namely Patrick Gilroy Macgregor, an early relative of Rob Roy, who operated in the Deeside Area.
