Aberdeen Kings College 197224jhp King's College Old side trees summer Aberdeen Scotland University Crown spire tower is the centrepiece of the University and is situated to the northern part of the modern city. Part of the City of Aberdeen, this northern area around the University was also a separate burgh and the focus for the oldest part of the city and especially its links with the University and the religious centre with St Machar's Cathedral Kirk nearby. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. They are still representative of the City despite their age and is chosen because of the lovely light and colours as it can still be on the right day although it has been more recently cleaned. Aberdeen Coopers Place 197227jhp Wrights Cooper Place lane houses summer Aberdeen University High Street Scottish City that can be seen along the High Street of Old Aberdeen now very much the centre of the University area as you walk between Kings College to St Machar's Drive and cross to the Chanonry. The University complex is located to the northern area of the modern City lying south of the River Don. These 18th century houses were sympathetically restored in 1965 and add great character to this iconic part of Old Aberdeen. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. Aberdeen Seaton Autumn 1919512jhp Aberdeen City Seaton Park autumn colours Wallace Tower path bench is a wide expanse of parkland lying between the University and River Don to the north of the City in the North East of Scotland. The offers walks and many areas to exercise and enjoy flower displays as well with easy access across the famous Brig O’Balgownie to Donside and the banks of the River Don as it flows eventually into the North Sea. Also in the park is the Wallace Tower, a partial replica of Benholm’s House or Lodging once situated in the Netherkirkgate but demolished in 1964. The present structure incorporates some of the original stonework from this unique z-plan towerhouse and one of the four remaining 16th Century buildings in the City.
