In the cemetery are the tombs of 19 Nobles from the Oryx Nome capital called Hebenu but after quarrying little is left worth seeing. Near to the cemetery is the northern boundary stela of Akhenaten which can be visited after a short low grade climb up steps where it is protected from the elements behind a Perspex screen. The distinctive accretions of layers of inward sloping limestone bricks or shaped stones suggest an evolving the Step Pyramid construction started at Saqqara at Zawiyat al Aryan Zawiyet el Aryan dating from King Khaba in 2600BC so after the Step Pyramid. It is located north of Abu Ghurab and Abusir on the desert edge. It is situated near military bases and requires a local taxi driver to make the journey as not included on any but the most specialised Egyptological tours. Todhead Architecture jkl8186jhp Todhead Lighthouse buildings architecture staff accommodation painted Victorian style Mearns Aberdeenshire Scotland located near Catterline on the North east coast of Aberdeenshire south of Stonehaven stands vacantly over the pudding stone cliffs. Built in 1897 by D.A. Stevenson it is still a stylish if sad reminder of the heyday of Victorian Maritime heritage. Its short ‘dumpy’ tower hides a shaft dug into the cliffs underneath which allowed the original clockwork mechanism to operate as described in Jane Geddes’s Deeside and Mearns Architectural Guide.
