Cottown Balgownie 191126jhp Aberdeen Cottown street Scottish River Don Crossing Brig O'Balgownie is an attractive terrace of houses from Balgownie Road in the Bridge of Don on the North side of the River which leads onto the famous single span bridge over the River Don. At this point for many centuries was the only crossing of the river and the main route north from Aberdeen originally built in the early 1300's but altered and rebuilt several times since - now only used as a footbridge with access to Seaton Park and the University grounds.. This photograph was taken in 2002 the last year I used slide film, either 35mm or 645 as my main medium for landscape photography. They are still representative of the City despite their age and is chosen because of the lovely light and colours as it can still be on the right day.
