Royalty Free photos of exhibits from the Cairo Egyptian Museum taken before current bans with slide film in available light not to studio quality
Akhenaten Statue EG11816JHP Egyptian Museum Exhibit limestone iconic shaped statue Pharaoh Akhenaten Amarna in the prime antiquities collection in Cairo taken during visits between 1994 and 1996 when photography was allowed albeit without flash and tripod. None is of studio quality, being handheld with existing, usually extremely poor light and using slide film, pushed Fuji 400asa to get a suitable aperture and shutter speed. Most of the photos are from the Tutankahum exhibits while the rest are items that interested me as I explored this wonderful and extensive collection, requiring many more hours if not days and is only hinted at during the usual one or two hour visit made on a package tour. Ramasseum Temple EG075243jhp Ramasseum Ramasses statue rear hieroglyphics granite Belzoni name carved cartouche Egypt Luxor Thebes, situated at this West Bank location of the Nile at Luxor is Ramses 11 mortuary temple glowing in the late afternoon sunlight and in these photos the remains of the Hypostyle Hall on the south east side feature with the rear of the second pylon and the toppled statue of Ramasses 11 visible in the background when looking southwards to the First Pylon. Looking up into the ceiling of the Hypostyle Hall, its lintels and the papyriform painted open bell shaped capitals still showing original colour. The trees are firstly selected, cut, stripped of bark and branches and then laid in lines ready for harvesting. Large pile of tree trucks in various categories then await collection for transport to specialist sawmills or transportation to Norway for pulping. Ashentilly Deeside View fgh1816jhp Ashentilly hill view Deeside Banchory Scotland Jim Henderson summer photograph from this hilltop which offers excellent views to Upper Deeside west of Drumoak and is found on the Ashentilly road, a left-hand fork off the Durris road opposite the Park turnoff the South Deeside Road on Royal Deeside west of Aberdeen in North East Scotland. Leaving the fork one passes the small carpark for walks in Warren Wood and after climbing to the top of the steep hill the road winds its way south before joining the Denside of Durris road, the popular route for reaching the Lairhillock Restaurant or going onto Portlethen and the main south coast road to Stonehaven. Banchory is the cluster of buildings in the distant centre.
