Caption: | Dunnideer Hillfort Prehistoric Ruin Insch Aberdeenshire Scottish Summer Photograph Gorseof this site although the remains now visible were one of the oldest stone castles in Scotland, built around 1260. Situated on one of two hills both of which show evidence of early use as fortified strongholds, they are near Insch in Aberdeenshire. It is accessed by a steep but short climb from a minor road to Clashindarroch Forest and there is a small signed carpark area. |
