Caption: | Aswan Egyptian Nubian Museum bronze oil lamp in man's facedesign with silver and garnet eyes one of mnay fascinating exhibits in this modern building whose foundations were laid in 1986, opened in 1997 and organised through UNESCO. Very low artificial light makes general photography difficult as well as affecting accurate colour balance. This now appears to be the only museum in Egypt where photography is still allowed although it is not easy as the ambient lighting is extremely subdued for conservation reasons. |
