Aswan Nubian Museum Centrepiece EG052931JHP Aswan Egyptian Nubian Museum main central area dominated by Ramses 11 Statue and giving a sense of the modern style of this building whose foundations were laid in 1986, opened in 1997 and organised through UNESCO. Very low artificial light makes general photography difficult as well as affecting accurate colour balance. This now appears to be the only museum in Egypt where photography is still allowed although it is not easy as the ambient lighting is extremely subdued for conservation reasons.
