Caption: | River Deveron Turriff in Banff and Buchan district with itselegant three span road bridge built in 1826 taking the B9025 to Banff and Aberchirder. Turriff is an ancient town mentioned in the 6th century with Pictish connections, with a later church built by the Knights Templar, as a main centre for the Covenanter Rebellion in 1639 and more recently conflict with Lloyd George’s National Health Insurance Scheme in 1913 and the creation of the Turra Coo. Today hosts one of the largest agricultural shows in Britain and remains a thriving farming town in the north of Aberdeenshire. |
