Edfu Pylon Relief EG052237JHP Edfu Temple Pylon Carvings Horus Hathor Solar Disc Ankh Was Scepter Pharaoh Ptolemy Offering Atef Crown on the outer face behind one of two Horus statues either side of the main entrance of this ancient monument located by the River Nile and is one of the main visits for most Luxor to Aswan cruise packages. One of the best preserved temples in Egypt this one is dedicated to the falcon God Horus and his granite likeness is probably one of the most photographed relicts in Egypt. Originally erected by Senwosret 1 it is mainly supplanted by the current Ptolemaic creation dating from 237BC.
