Caption: | Rock Tombs Deir el-Medina Ancient Egyptian Workers Village Luxor WestBank is located near the River Nile and lies to the west of Qurnet Murai hill and is the location of a workman's village with the remains of houses, streets and a Ptolemaic Tmple and other chapels. The workers are known for their work in the Valley tombs which they reached walking over the Theban plateau. The photograph is of rock cut tombs of the workers at the northern corner of the site above the village. |
