Knock Castle Ballater Scotland VN0461JHP Knock Scottish Castle Ruin Fort Tower House Royal Deeside Aberdeenshire Photo is a Historic Scotland property to the south of Ballater on the Balmoral Estate at Knock Farm accessed from the South Deeside Road. It is a ruin although Prince Charles has recently suggested restoring it which has a sad history of family feuds between Gordon of Knock, the builder of the present tower, whose family was killed in one day and he dropped down dead at the hands of the ‘Black’ Forbes of Strath Girnock who was later killed by Gordon of Abergeldie who inherited the castle and it fell into disrepair.
