Mearns Daffodils UP220120jhp Mearns Aberdeenshire Fettercairn Grampians daffodils farming Scotland spring yellow colour looking westwards towards the Grampians, a line of hills dividing the flat fertile plains of The Mearns from the hilly Glens of Deeside. This view is taken from the road approaching Fettercairn from the main dual carriageway A94 where several fields are covered in commercially grown daffodils especially targeting the Easter celebrations in England. The Howe of Mearns is a central part low lying flat fertile farmland in the centre of an area stretching from the south of Stonehaven to the Tay Estuary. Once you head North West over the various Angus Glens or over the Cairn O’Mount from Fettercairn you go into hill farming, moorland or forested estates onto Deeside and eventually reach the Highlands. Note the Exif date is incorrect –indicates January, should be April.
