Caption: | Egyptian Luxor West Bank Thebes Valley Queens approach querns hillsrocks is the lesser known and visited burial necropolis on the West Bank of the River Nile at Luxor in which some Royal burials of this ancient civilisation of Pharaohs wives are contained as well as wives of important officials. Certainly one of the most beautiful is that of Queen Nefertari [66], restored by the Getty Institute and is not always open. Entry is by limited special permission and substantial entrance fee. I did have the chance to see it for a very limited time and of course no photography was allowed but it was an awesome experience, almost akin to be being in a Disney cartoon rich in colour. The usual tombs visited on a package visit are Queem Tyti [52], Prince Amun-hir-Khopshef [55] and Prince Kha’emweset [44]. |
