Meikle Pap Snow 1629386jhp Snow Winter Lochnagar lochan corrie Scotland Meikle Pap Aberdeenshire Pic taken from the Meikle Pap across the lochan and corrie of the fourth highest mountain in Britain in North East Scotland to the south of Ballater and the River Dee with the distant Cairngorm Range in the background. On approaching the saddle above the lochan and looking across at the summit of the mountain range, the Meikle Pap is small climb to the right and does give useful views across the whole front of the mountain and the opportunity from its boulder scree field for foreground interest to create a sense of 3 dimensional depth. This point is an approximate 2-2.5 hour’s walk from the carpark on well defined track to the Fox’s Well and thereafter a conservation constructed pathway.
