| Caption: | Tomnaverie Stone Circle Tarland village spring Scotland monoliths Aberdeenshire Deesidelocated on a small hill overlooking the village of Tarland in the distance on Royal Deeside. This recumbent stone circle with its flankers and altar stone, recently excavated, dated to around 1800BC and partially restored by Reading University. A modern carpark with disabled access has been provided by Historic Scotland and coach lay-by as well and is easily reached after a short climb up a prepared path. |
