At the northern end of Howe of Mearns which is a central part low lying flat fertile farmland in the centre of an area stretching from the south of Stonehaven to the Tay Estuary. This view is from Banff Hill looking over the rolling countryside above Birniehill Wood on the road from Inverbervie to Whitefield and Townhead crossing the Bervie water and taking the right hand road to Arbuthnott, left to Fourdon.
