Deeside Pastel Sunrise asd4563jhp Scottish winter snow dawn pastel sunrise snowing soft Royal Deeside looking towards Beltie Hill Glassel near Torphins in Aberdeenshire, North East Scotland about 25 miles west of Aberdeen and this sunrise was taken during a snow shower so hence the very soft pastel nature and texture in the sky. Often the shapes and range and vibrancy of the colours defies descriptions and can only be seen to be believed; my experience is that this phase only lasts for at most 20 minutes so it is often being in the right place at the right time and best photographed using a tripod as the light levels mean longer exposures especially at best quality ISO settings.
