Caption: | Summer Hill Fare Green Quarry flooded pink trees overgrown brackenDeeside taken at The Green on the road up to this huge hill area standing north of Banchory and extending from Echt in the east to Torphins in the west and part of Dunecht Estates on Royal Deeside to the west of Aberdeen in Aberdeenshire. The pink granite from this quarry was used to build many of the late Victorian houses on the estate and in the nearby villages including the town of Banchory including our family house on Ramsay Road in 1904. |
