Caption: | Bennachie Donside hill fort Aberdeenshire Corsindae beech trees spring Scottishrural photo taken from the roadside on the Corsindae road heading north from Mid-Mar and very typical of an Aberdeenshire rural scene as the winter goes and spring colours start to appear but with field borders of mature beech trees still bare of leaves. Bennachie Hill to the west of Inverurie by the River Don is a distinctive landmark in central Aberdeenshire with its unusual peak man made with its partially vitrified Pictish fort remains and easily accessed from a visitors centre on the Chapel of Garioch road between Monymusk and Pitcaple. |
