Caption: | Dendara Temple Coptic basilica Hathor hypostyle hall afternoon west Egyptwall located north of Luxor survives as one of the finest examples of the Late Period and the main buildings visited today date from fourth century BC in to the Roman period. It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. Afternoon light catches the rear of the main temple Tiberian facade of the Hathor hypostyle taken from the remains of the Coptic Basilica. |
