Caption: | Dendara Temple basilica mammisi Nectanebo Egyptian columns carved Qena photographlocated north of Luxor survives as one of the finest examples of the Late Period and the main buildings visited today date from fourth century BC in to the Roman period. It has a notable rare representation of the famous Cleopatra, some beautiful carvings and is relatively unscathed by the ravages of time, desecration and being dismantled for building materials. In the background is evidence of sword or knife sharpening over the centuries. |
