Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights displays photographed taken over Aberdeeshire in Scotland since 1989 covering some 350 events with arc, rays, coronas with a wide rnage of shapes and colours
Aurora Most Active qwe1714jhp Aurora Borealis North Northern Lights Scottish arc active rays taken on Royal Deeside the 22nd January 2012 at 20.22.49hrs UT at its most active phase and is the first display for this year and best photographed since end of the previous Solar Cycle in 2006. This photograph was taken with a Nikon D700 full frame DSLR using a 24mm Nikkor f2.8 lens and ISO settings of 3200/6400 which allows for much shorter exposure circa 8 secs average times with hopefully more accurate recordings of these moving events. Aurora Borealis North Northern Lights Scottish arc active rays taken
